cacti in window

After getting off work today, I walked to my car and a crazy, spontaneous idea hit me. “I am going to go find a succulent farm”. I searched on google for the closest succulent farm and found one about fifteen minutes from my office. Score. So I headed off on a journey towards Half Moon Bay in hopes of finding some new babies to add to my cactus collection.

As I pulled up to the Highway 92 Succulents farm, I knew off the bat that I had found heaven. Immediately as I walked into the cactus-filled nursery, I was greeted by the friendly owner, George. I am going to be 100% honest when I say this, I have never experienced more incredible customer service in my entire life. George helped me pick out some incredible cacti, and he even helped me plant and arrange them in a terra-cotta bowl. We chatted for about thirty minutes about everything and anything Cali-related. I left so incredibly happy, my new cactus garden riding shot gun in the front seat. To finish off the day, I, of course, headed to Chipotle.

Sorry this post is a little random, just wanted to share my fun adventure and the gorgeous cactus nursery I discovered today! In the morning, I will be up bright & early for a long hike in San Francisco with a friend. Couldn’t be more excited for this three day weekend ahead.

Happy Friday evening!

In the 7th grade, the cactus craze started. I remember getting probably five cacti plants for my birthday that year from friends, and my obsession with them never really ended after that. By the time high school graduation rolled around, I had something of a cactus garden accumulating in my room. Over the years, my love for cacti has not died whatsoever. I celebrated my 21st birthday this past weekend with my college friends, and my birthday sign was a giant, glittery cactus [pictured below]. It was so perfect! Long story short, I have an undeniable love for cacti.  I am a sucker for succulents, what can I say?

Earlier this semester, my mom surprised me with this amazing, cactus cardigan that she snagged at a local boutique. Not only is it unique,  but it’s super comfy (which is always a plus in my book!). I paired it with a soft black tee, distressed denim shorts, and lace up sandals for a casual and easy look. In the past, I’ve always been pretty anti-cardigan. However, this one has definitely been a huge game-changer for me. I have a feeling I will be embracing the cardigan all season.

On a slightly random note, I have officially moved out of the sorority house. The past two years living in this beautiful house have been incredible, and I am so thankful for the friendships & memories I have made. Moving out today was bitter sweet, definitely more bitter than sweet in all honesty. However, I am excited for this summer and the adventures ahead.

I hope you’re having a great week!

Happy Tuesday! I hope that you had a great Easter weekend! I know it was definitely a relaxing one for me. My family and I enjoyed a nice Easter weekend filled with friends, brunch, church, shopping, movies, and of course, good tex-mex. It’s always very refreshing to take a weekend getaway back to Texas. This weekend, I also started the hunt of finding my first apartment! I am really looking forward to living in California this summer, and it’s been fun searching for the perfect place to stay. I’ve been living on campus for three years now, so I finally feel like a real adult, searching for my very first apartment. I couldn’t be more excited for these upcoming months. Is anybody else counting down the days til summer?

During my weekend at home, I noticed my mom had the cutest new phone case (pictured above). Her tropical case put me in the mood to hunt down some other perfect cases, all under $50. I have a boring, black case on mine at the moment, but I definitely need to pick up a new one for spring! I’ve been totally eyeing that cactus case! Obsessed!
