Dress: Revolve (only $50!) // Heels: Missguided (not available anymore, other fun heels linked below) // Bracelet: David Yurman

Life’s too short for boring shoes- and to not break out of your comfort zone every once in a while. My wardrobe basically consists of an excessive amount of halter tops and dresses. Plunging necklines have always intimidated me in the past, but when I spotted this dress on Revolve, I decided to take a risk & take the plunge. The NBD ‘everytime’ skater dress comes in several different colors (including black and white) and is surprisingly flattering. Plus, the price is pretty hard to beat at $50! I definitely think it runs true to size, and I purchased mine in an XS. If you are looking for the perfect dress for a formal or spring time event, look no further!

When I saw these wild, holographic heels on Missguided a few months ago, I couldn’t pass them up. I think they really add a unique touch to any outfit and make you stand out. I absolutely love fun shoes, especially to pair with more solid and neutral pieces in my wardrobe. I’ve linked some more exciting heels below!

I apologize that I have been a little MIA this past week, but I am now back from spring break! I had such a great time in Florida with my sorority sisters. The tans will fade, but the memories definitely won’t. I hope that you guys are having a great Sunday & a happy spring break!

Mackenzie Kendall

Sam Edelman lace up heels (run true to size)

Anybody that knows me, knows that I am a have something of a shoe addiction. I love shoes, possibly a little too much. My feet haven’t grown since about the fifth grade, so I have always used that as an excuse to justify my addiction. I spotted these gorgeous Sam Edelman lace up heels a few months ago, and it was love at first. My mom ended up buying them for her own shoe collection several weeks ago, and I definitely have been ‘breaking them in for her’ (the perks of having the same shoe size as your style savvy mom!). These sandal heels are very comfortable and are incredibly versatile. It can be hard to find heels that aren’t too casual but not too dressy, and these lace up gems are perfect for brunch, church, a spring time wedding, dinner or girls night!

There have been so many awesome spring shoes out this season, and I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you guys! I’ve been so into the lace-up shoe trend lately, and I think they are so perfect for both spring & summer.

As much as I do love Midterms week (said no college student ever), I am beyond ready for some fun in the sun. This year, I am heading back to Florida to enjoy spring break with my sorority sisters. There’s nothing I love more than hitting the beach & soaking up the sun. With this dreary weather we’ve been having here in Oxford, I am ready for a warm getaway!

I hope that you all are having a happy Thursday! Let me know what your spring break plans are this year!

Dress: Show Me Your Mumu //  Necklace: Kendra Scott // Boots: Ivanka Trump (linked similar) // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff

Where the heck did February go? I can’t believe March is already here with spring break just around the corner! Crazy! Just because spring is almost here doesn’t mean you have to put away your over the knee boots just yet. Even though I go to school in the south, it is still chilly here. Though I am dying to break out the halter tops and sandals, I am still taking advantage of this crisp, but sunny, weather. I recently picked up this Show Me Your Mumu dress. I love the Kylie style because it is perfectly casual & beyond easy for everyday wear. I paired it with my favorite black OTK boots and a tassel necklace. However, I definitely plan on throwing it on with a denim jacket and sandals later this month. It could definitely be dressed up with some statement earrings and sky-high wedges as well.

Guess what, friends? I am going to Dallas this weekend! In my three years of college, I have never ‘randomly gone home’. I typically only go home for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and Summer. Going to college ten hours away from home is so fun, but sometimes there is nothing better than a relaxing weekend at home. I also need to bring some of my winter clothes home to swap out with my spring pieces. My grandparents are going to be driving through the area, so I am hitching a ride with them all the way back to Dallas! I am so excited to see my fam & catch up on some much needed Tex-mex!

I hope that you all are having a fabulous first week of March!

how to start a blog

[/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]

So you’ve decided you want to start a blog, but you aren’t quite sure where to begin.. I know the feeling.

Blogging can be such a fun & exciting creative outlet. It’s a fantastic way to share your ideas and life. I’ve really enjoyed blogging, and it has been the most incredible learning experience for me personally. Almost every single day, I get texts from friends at college along with tons of messages on Tumblr about how to start your own blog/website. Blogging is most definitely for anyone and everyone.

I first got into blogging in May of 2015. I absolutely love Tumblr, but I wanted to try something different and experience something completely out of my comfort zone. One of my favorite parts of blogging in general is creating the look and feel of your blog! Creating a blog is so fun, and though it can be overwhelming and confusing at first, it’s such a rewarding and cool experience! Here are some tips for starting your own blog:

Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM Bag (Damier print)

I’ve always been a cross-body purse kinda girl, partly because of how easy cross-body bags are to just throw on and go. However, for Valentine’s Day this year, I received my first “grown up” bag. I never knew how much I really needed a good tote bag in my life until I got the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM. Between weekend trips, shopping outings, and study sessions at coffee shops, this bag has easily become my newest addiction. It’s easy to just throw everything in, and it hold so much – including my laptop, camera, books, and so much more! Though I still love my cross-body bags for specific occasions, I have to say I’ve been completely obsessed with my Neverfull bag. Louis Vuitton is such a classic brand, and I love the size and quality of this purse. I’m also really happy with the ‘Damier‘ print, though I do like the monogram print as well (which my bestie & my sister both own & love). I know it’s definitely a purse I will be using for the rest of my life!

Here are some essentials I tend to throw in my bag; click to shop:

I hope you all are having a great Monday so far!

Even though spring is almost here, it’s still very chilly here in the South. So in these last few weeks of cold weather, I love to break out my favorite winter outfits. This #edgy one is no exception. An all-black outfit is always my go-to whether I am hitting the town with friends or going on a date night. I paired my favorite leather jacket with a black blouse, ripped jeans, statement heels, and, of course, bold, red lips. There’s something about the combination of leather and red lips that makes me totally feel like Sandy from Greece.

Tell me about it, stud.

If you have been following me on Tumblr for the past two years, you know that I have always been scared of wearing jeans for some bizarre reason. To be completely honest, I don’t think I have even tried on jeans in the past five to six years, which is crazy; I know. It is a new year and a new season in my life, so I decided to break out of my comfort zone and do something completely different. I fell in love with this comfortable pair of Paige jeans. They had the perfect amount of ‘rips’, making them a little edgy, but still totally wearable. They were on sale at Nordstrom Rack in my hometown, so I couldn’t find an excuse to say no.  To make this outfit a little more casual, you could swap out the heels for some riding boots, ballet flats, or booties and rock a neutral glossy lip instead of the bold red.

I hope that y’all had an awesome Valentine’s Day & that you are having a fabulous week so far!

Show Me Your Mumu New Collection

Sandy Snake Romper | Sandy Snake Crop Top + Shorts | Desert Sand Crisp Trousers | Desert Sand Crisp Romper | Cact-Eye Tee | 3 Amigos Cardigan | Lite Bright Bull Top | Lite Bright Bull Romper

Hey everyone! I first wanted to start off by saying my blog got a little makeover! I couldn’t sleep last night, so I decided to completely revamp my blog & try something different. I had a lot fun designing and playing around with a new look, and I hope y’all enjoy it as well!

Secondly, it has probably been no secret by now, but I absolutely love Show Me Your Mumu. From the fun prints to the trendy cuts, Mumu has easily become one of my favorite brands over the past few years. I find myself always reaching for my Mumu pieces whether I am going out with friends or traveling. Show Me Your Mumu launched their newest collection this morning, and it was love at first sight. I have loved so many of the previous Mumu collections, but this current one, ‘Desert MUasis’, is by far my very favorite one yet. The prints in this collection are so gorgeous and refreshing. I felt so inspired by them and decided I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces with y’all. I like that this collection almost has a neutral feel, but of course, has a very unique and eclectic edge to it. My sister and I have been texting links to our favorite pieces in the collection back and forth all day. We were dying over the ‘Cact-eye‘ tee. So perfect & clever!

If you are a Mumu fan too, let me know what your favorite piece in the Desert MUasis collection is! I am going to have a tough time deciding which piece to add to my collection next!

Best of DFW, Texas

bestof

Hello, friends & happy Monday! So as a lot of y’all know, I have been living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area since Elementary School. Growing up in the DFW area has really been such an incredible experience, and I’ve made so many amazing memories over the years here in Texas. My family lives in Westlake, a tiny town nestled between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. I have grown up visiting both Dallas and Fort Worth (and everywhere in-between) on a weekly basis. I get questions all the time from followers that are planning to visit the DFW areas and are unsure of things to do or specific places to eat. I am no expert by any means, but here are some places my family, friends, and I have loved and wanted to share (in no particular order). I hope that you enjoy this list of my favorite places and activities in the DFW area & that you have a fabulous trip to the Lone Star State!
