Mid-March Favorites

Hello & happy middle of March. I know the month is only halfway through, but I wanted to go ahead and share my favorite things of the moment. I’ve decided to switch things up and start shooting some of my blog posts in film because I’m trying to practice. Let me know what you think!

To get through these depressing, lingering winter months, I’ve really been leaning into old hobbies and comforts.

Speaking of comforts, is there anything more nostalgic and cozy than cookie dough?! After getting a billion IG ads, I caved in and ordered 5 containers of Deux. Obviously, I was suckered in by the adorable packaging, but I loved (1) that the dough itself is 100% edible, (2) they are packed with good ingredients like zinc, ashwagandha, and reishi mushroom, and (3) they are GF/vegan. My husband, Chase, and I are obsessed. We both agreed we slightly prefer Deux in cookie form, but it’s also delicious straight out of the jar too. They also just launched a collab with Summer Fridays, which I need to pick up next.

If you’re looking for a treat for yourself – or a gal pal – I would definitely recommend Deux. Big fan.

Ah makeup.. my forever guilty pleasure since middle school. My favorite product this month? Viseart coy palette. *Chef’s kiss*. I eyed this palette for maybe two years, but never pulled the trigger because the price tags on Viseart palettes can be scary. But I finally did it, and I have no regrets. This candy-colored palette is sparking creativity for me, and I love swiping just one shimmery color across the lids and calling it a day. It’s my favorite palette in my bag right now, and I know it will get lots of love all spring and summer too!

Okay, I just checked on Sephora. Even though I purchased it a few weeks ago, it’s no longer on the site. However, all of the Viseart palettes are gorgeous and superb quality! If you’re looking for a pastel/colorful palette, I would recommend Huda’s Mercury Retrograde. I own it and love it (+ it’s on sale for $33 on Sephora rn). I also know that Natasha Denona recently released a pastel palette this month that also looks very pretty!

My current photography favorite right now is my Canon 35mm 1.8 lens. I’m in love. I’ve been a 50mm girl for YEARS and finally decided to venture out and try something different out. I’ve been using my 35mm since October, but it’s been getting a lot of love these past few weeks. The Canon RF lenses are spectacular, and a lot of them are also on the more affordable side.

Ugg boots are back, babbbyyyy. And I’m not mad about it at all. I have these on my feet for pretty much the entire day. These are the Disquette slippers, and I purchased them from the Ugg store right down the street from me. They are SO cozy, and I personally think they look fabulous because they have a tall platform (us 5’0 girls will take what we can get – even if we’re alone working from home all day).

I will say – the sizing is BIZARRE. I am typically a true 6.5 size shoe in 99% of shoes, but I had to purchase a US 8 in this style to keep my heels from hanging off the back completely. If you get these, please, please order at least 1.5 sizes up (if not 2 full sizes up!). They run so tiny, trust me.

Outside of the strange sizing, I adore them.

Piecework was another brand that bombarded me with social media ads for months, and in February, I finally purchased one for my sister as a Valentine’s Day present. Two weeks ago, I decided to treat myself too because I’ve been in the puzzle mood lately. They really help me relax and are a great screen-free activity to wind down at the end of a busy workday. Not only are Piecework puzzles gorgeous, but they’re also very high quality. My sister and I are both pretty picky with puzzle size/quality/texture, and this one checks the box for both of us. (I’m currently on my second one for the month lol)

This YSL Lou bag was a gift Chase surprised me with earlier this year (he picked it out himself!!), and I’ve been obsessed with it. It’s my first nude-colored bag, and I’ve been wearing it almost every single time I leave the house. It matches everything, and it fits my DSLR camera (along with my lipgloss, airpods, keys, etc. – all the things).

I hope y’all are having a good month so far – spring is almost here! As much as Daylight Savings has profoundly confused my body, I honestly love the sun setting later in the day.

P.S. I am going to post my living room tour in the next few days or so! It’s a long one 🙂

XOXO,
Mackenzie
