Tropical Midi Skirt
Lavender Velvet
Happy Sunday! Lavender is one of my all time favorite colors, especially to wear. I recently cleaned out my makeup collection, only to re-fall in love with one of my favorite lipglosses, ‘Pink Steam‘ by Marc Jacobs (that my fantastic sister gifted to me last year for Christmas!). I decided I wanted to wear it this week and was elated to realized it matched perfectly with my new lavender velvet skirt that I recently ordered. Lavender is a color that I typically associate with spring time, but I adore the thought of breaking it out in the winter time for a soft, feminine ensemble.
black turtleneck (under $30) | velvet skirt | black tights | black booties (linked similar)
When I stumbled upon this affordable velvet skater skirt a few weeks ago online, I knew I needed it for winter. I purchased mine in a petite 2, and I would definitely say it runs very true to size (though I wish I would have went down a size- petite sizes can be tricky). This gorgeous skirt also comes in several colors including a festive red. I am definitely planning on ordering another color, and my sister is planning to pick up one as well! If you are looking for the perfect velvet skirt, look no further.
I decided to pair the skirt with a solid black Nordstrom turtleneck top, black tights, and my favorite black Prada booties. I think this look would also look stunning with a black fur jacket or statement necklace for a night out! I can’t wait to rock this skirt all season.

Paisley Perfection

blue paisley skirt | white tie top | choker (on sale) | booties
Hello & happy Friday! I am not sure I could tell you when or where I fell in love with paisley. For the past few months, I have been gravitating towards anything and everything printed in paisley. So when I stumbled upon this adorable blue, paisley skirt, I knew I needed to add it to my growing paisley collection. I paired it with a white tie top, metallic choker, and neutral booties. I can definitely see it paired with a black turtleneck and black over the knee boots as it gets chillier outside.
Guess what? At this time next week I will be back in Dallas. I am so excited to see my family & enjoy the Texas State Fair.

Mackenzie

San Francisco Brewery Tour
“Look I’m a cactus!”
suede bodysuit | cold shoulder sweater (linked similar) | printed skirt (linked similar pattern) | black booties
Taylor and I met back in 5th or 6th grade (I can’t even remember because that seems so long ago), and we have been besties ever since. Taylor is one of those rare-gem kind of friends, always making me laugh and always having my back (and always putting up with me- even through my very scary middle school emo phase). It’s been such a blessing to have her in the Bay Area with me this summer. We’ve had so much fun exploring the city, trying new foods, and taking road trips. This past Saturday, our last Saturday together this summer (inserts crying face emoji), we took the train to the city to go on a brewery tour! A brewery tour was an idea that never crossed my mind, but when Taylor suggested it a few weeks, I though ‘why not? Yolo’.
Though I am not a huge beer fan myself, it was so interesting to see the beer making process. We toured the Anchor Brewing Company factory that recently celebrated their 120 year anniversary. We sampled several different beers and made some good memories. For our little outing, I wore a suede bodysuit, cold shoulder sweater, and printed skater skirt. All paired with my favorite black booties, of course. My outfit choice wasn’t exactly the smartest idea because it was freezing in the city, but luckily we were inside for the tour. I really love the bodysuit trend, surprisingly enough. It’s definitely out of my comfort zone, especially with this specific one being a little scandy. I’ve always been self conscious of my chest, but I’ve been trying to branch out this year and dive into plunging necklines. It’s always fun to try out new trends and experiment a little with fashion! I think this outfit would be perfect for a night out, especially paired with a leather jacket. Taylor rocked a bodysuit as well. All in all, it was a fun trip to SF. If you ever are in the Bay Area, brewery tours are a must do!

Little Leather Skirt
Turtleneck | Leather Skirt | Tights | Booties (linked similar)
Hey lovely people! The little leather skirt is my winter time obsession- especially for night! I purchased this sassy, burgundy one last fall, and I’ve been obsessed with it for over a year now. Every time I wear this skirt, I tend to be an outfit repeater. I constantly pair it with a black turtleneck, black tights, and black booties. It’s my go-to look for any night out. However, I think it would also look great for daytime with a long sleeve, black/white striped top and black riding boot.
Let’s talk about these gorgeous photos. Thank you so much to Taylor Nicole for all of these stunning photos. I had so much working with you for these past few outfit posts. [Check out her website here & her Facebook page here!]
I hope y’all are having a fabulous, fabulous weekend so far,
How to Style: Suede Skirt
1. Tassel Earrings | 2. Stripe Mock Neck Top | 3. Suede Skirt | 4. Lace Up Sandals | 5. Black High Neck Top | 6. Statement Necklace | 7. Suede Skirt | 8. Fringe Booties
Hello friends! Suede has been SO in this season, and I am loving it. I purchased this rust colored suede skirt a few months ago, and it has easily become one of my favorite pieces for fall. I get asked all the time about how to style suede skirts, and here are two ways that I like to style mine.
Outfit #1 is perfect for those warm, fall days. If you live in the south, you understand the struggle of trying to find fall outfits to wear when it is still in the 90’s! I paired the suede skirt with some black lace up booties and a striped mock neck crop top. I always like to opt for statement earrings instead of a necklace for patterned tops, and I thought these black tassel earrings would tie the whole look together. Outfit #2 is great for chillier days. I paired the suede skirt with a black high neck top and some black, fringe booties. If it’s cold, you could add some black tights and a black fur vest as well for extra warmth. For this specific outfit, I decided to add a bold statement necklace because the rest of the outfit is solid and neutral. I really love the color combination of black/rust with turquoise! I pretty much live in colorful outfits, but lately I’ve been trying to embrace more neutrals in my wardrobe.
If you have a suede skirt, let me know how you like to style yours! Hope you all are having a great week!
White Midi Skirt
midi skirt (not available anymore • similar & similar) // chambray shirt // sandals // earrings
Never did I ever think I would wear a midi skirt, let alone fall in love with one. A few months ago I was shopping for skirts online and stumbled across this one on forever21. I hesitated for a second or two before putting in my cart because I wasn’t sure if I would end up actually wearing it. It was such a good impulse buy and has easily become one of my summer staples. This is a little bit of a ‘tbt’ post because I wore this outfit back when my mom was visiting me in London. I paired this white midi skirt with my favorite chambray button down for a night out in the city to see Mama Mia, one of my favorite musicals. I really, really enjoyed all of the lively songs and costumes.
Sadly this exact skirt is not available anymore online, but it might still be in stores because I purchased it about two months ago. Below I posted some different ways that I plan on styling my white midi skirt over the next few weeks.
Thank you so much for checking out my blog! Hope you all are having a fabulous week!
