Hello & happy Friday! Can you believe this week is already over? What I am even more in shock over is the fact that my summer internship is over. It went by so flippin quick. As you may know, I had the opportunity to intern for Oracle in Silicon Valley this summer. It was incredible. Incredible may actually be an understatement. Today was my official last day, and I may or may not have cried.

For my last day of work, I wore my very favorite office-friendly dress. In fact, this may be my favorite dress I own. I can’t even count the number of times I have worn it over the past few months. After stealing it from my mom’s closet for weeks, she finally let me keep it in my closet and take it to California. And boy, do I LOVE it. Not only is it comfy, but it’s so easy to just throw on and go. For work, I paired it with my favorite flats. To make it more ‘night-ready’, I threw on my favorite black booties to dress it down a bit + a hint of edge. For dinner, my dad and I headed to Lemonade in Palo Alto. I heard countless rave reviews about it, so I decided to check it out for myself. It was absolutely amazing! If you have a Lemonade near you, it’s a must-go. It’s such a unique concept, and the food was delicious. My favorite thing there? The lemonade, of course.

Mackenzie

Let’s Be Tourists

IMG_5399

Happy Friday! This past weekend, my friends and I headed up to the city to be ‘tourists’ in our own temporary home. We started our day off with a trip to the famous Ghirardelli Factory to have a totally worth-our-calories lunch. After eating a billion pounds of chocolate, we went to the Golden Gate Bridge to snap a few touristy pics and walk across the bridge. For dinner, we headed to Fisherman’s Wharf for some seafood. For our day trip adventure, I wore my new favorite ‘hands off my succulent’ tee paired with my black western booties.

I am so thankful for the friendships this summer, both new and old. [I am also thankful for friends that put up with my constant photo-taking- y’all rock!]. Tomorrow my dad is flying to SF to come visit me/help me move out. Leaving next weekend will be bittersweet. More bitter than sweet, in all honesty [which I will be diving into next week in a ‘summer summary’ post]. However, I am appreciating every single second left of this summer dream.

xoxo,

Mackenzie

Dress: Show Me Your Mumu | Kimono: Ivy Jane (similar) | Tights: Target | Booties: Prada (similar)

As we get closer to the end of 2015, it gets even chillier outside (even here in the south). Preparing for colder evenings is a piece of cake with the help of a few layers. To make this fun halter dress appropriate for nighttime, I added a fringe kimono, black tights, and tall, suede booties. If you wanted to dress it up even more, you could always opt for a bold lipstick like ‘Diva‘ or ‘Rebel‘. Both give a great vampy look that’s perfect for any night event!

I hope you enjoyed this little daytime/nighttime look (see the daytime version here)! Check back on Thursday for an exciting review of some awesome bath products that I have been trying out and absolutely loving! Thank you so much for checking out my blog. I hope y’all are having a fabulous weekend!

P.S. – Here is another suggestion of how to wear your favorite dress in the fall time. Pair a leather jacket, knee high boots, and a black clutch with your outfit to add something edgy and exciting for the night! Leather jackets are the perfect option if you want something a little warmer than a kimono. They also make you feel automatically cooler. These tall, suede boots will add extra warmth as well.

Tunic | Clutch (similar) | Sunglasses (similar) | Earrings | Booties

Show Me Your Mumu makes the best tunics ever. The ‘Donna Michelle Tunic‘ is most definitely no exception. I fell in love when I saw this gorgeous kaleidoscope patterned tunic launch on their site a few weeks ago. I love the bold print, and that the colors work perfectly for both fall and spring. I paired it with my favorite fringe booties, gold clutch, cat eye sunglasses, and white tassel earrings. I definitely plan on purchasing a second ‘Donna Michelle Tunic’ in another pattern this season. It’s just so comfy and perfect for travel! I think the print ‘Water Moccasin‘ may be next on my list!

Dress: Free People | Sunglasses: Mirrored Aviators | Earrings: Hoops | Shoes: Fringe Booties | Lipstick: ‘Rebel’

Hello friends! It’s finally Thursday, and the weekend is almost here. There’s nothing I love more than spending my Saturday cheering on the Rebs! I absolutely love fall gamedays, so I thought I would share my new favorite gameday piece with y’all. When I stumbled upon this tunic on Free People, I knew I wanted needed it in my closet. I paired this flowy, floral tunic with my favorite fringed booties and bold lipstick. Because it is technically a tunic, I had a hard time selecting a size because I knew I wanted to wear it as a dress. I decided to go for a ‘large’ to avoid the risk of it being too short! I think it could definitely look great as a top paired with jeans or shorts. Even though this piece is patterned, I find that it is so versatile and can be worn in a variety of ways!

Thank you so much for checking out my blog! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

How to Style: Suede Skirt

suede11. Tassel Earrings | 2. Stripe Mock Neck Top | 3. Suede Skirt | 4. Lace Up Sandals | 5. Black High Neck Top | 6. Statement Necklace | 7. Suede Skirt | 8. Fringe Booties

Hello friends! Suede has been SO in this season, and I am loving it. I purchased this rust colored suede skirt a few months ago, and it has easily become one of my favorite pieces for fall. I get asked all the time about how to style suede skirts, and here are two ways that I like to style mine.

Outfit #1 is perfect for those warm, fall days. If you live in the south, you understand the struggle of trying to find fall outfits to wear when it is still in the 90’s! I paired the suede skirt with some black lace up booties and a striped mock neck crop top. I always like to opt for statement earrings instead of a necklace for patterned tops, and I thought these black tassel earrings would tie the whole look together. Outfit #2 is great for chillier days. I paired the suede skirt with a black high neck top and some black, fringe booties. If it’s cold, you could add some black tights and a black fur vest as well for extra warmth. For this specific outfit, I decided to add a bold statement necklace because the rest of the outfit is solid and neutral. I really love the color combination of black/rust with turquoise! I pretty much live in colorful outfits, but lately I’ve been trying to embrace more neutrals in my wardrobe.

If you have a suede skirt, let me know how you like to style yours! Hope you all are having a great week!
