Hello & happy JUNE! May was honestly such a crazy month for me. From graduating college, to accepting a job offer, to making the big move- it has definitely been an exciting past few weeks. I have been looking forward to June for quite some time, so I am stoked that it is finally here! I feel like the days have just been flying by lately, and I am so excited to see what this month has in store.
Today I wanted to share a few things I discovered and loved in May. Let me know below which products/finds you loved this past month!
GLOWY MOISTURIZER pixi glowtion day dew
I honestly can not tell you the last time that I have purchased a full size moisturizer. I constantly bounce from Sephora samples, always hesitant on spending $50+ on a full size, high end moisturizer. When I was in Target about three weeks ago, I decided to pick up this wallet-friendly moisturizer to give it a try. I really, really love it. I am pretty picky about skincare, and I always look up ingredients. I did some research on the brand, Pixi, and decided I would give it a try. I really like this moisturizer for everyday use (not night). It looks beautiful under makeup and really gives your makeup a dewy finish. I also have very sensitive, acne-prone skin and it does not break me out! This product is also super lightweight, which is something I look for in an AM product. I would definitely repurchase this product in the future!
TONER pixi glow tonic
I have seen countless rave reviews on the Pixi Glow Tonic. When I picked up the moisturizer (pictured above), I decided to get this top-rated toner a try as well. I REALLY love it. This is probably one of my top two favorite purchases from May. It’s really affordable, but it really does work. It does a beautiful job of really exfoliating your skin and creating an even, glowy canvas. I use this product twice a day after washing my face and before moisturizing/applying facial oils. I would highly recommend it- especially if you are looking for a great, affordable toner! Something I like about toners is that they really help to get every inch of makeup off at the end of the day. I wash my face pretty thoroughly, but when I use this toner, I am always shocked about how much makeup shows up on the cotton pad. I am really glad I decided to purchase this product, and I definitely plan on finishing up this bottle! I also want to try out a few more products from Pixi. If you have tried anything from the brand, let me know what products you would recommend trying out next!
BELT asos western belt (sold out- linked similar from asos)
A few weeks ago, I misplaced my favorite, vintage western belt. Finding belts has never been easy for me. A lot of them I have tried in the past have been too huge and others were way too expensive. When I found this one on ASOS this past month, I decided to order it in hopes of finding a dupe to replace my beloved- and MIA- western belt. I was torn between the XXS and the XS, but decided to opt for the smaller of the two. It fits perfectly and works with both jeans and dresses/skirts. I love it!! I wish it came in other colors because I have been wearing it a ton lately. If you are looking for a trendy belt, ASOS is definitely an awesome place to look. They have a great selection of belts, prices, and sizes!
LASHES ardell wispies lashes
I get asked all the time about my favorite false lashes. I have not worn false lashes in my past few blog posts (except for ‘Graduation’), but I do love falsies. I have the worst natural lashes- they are blonde-ish, thin, straight, and short. For special occasions, I love a good pair of false lashes. They make a HUGE difference and especially pop in photos. I am planning on wearing some this weekend to a concert! My favorite falsies right now are the Ardell Wispies. They are super popular and for good reason! I have repurchased them several times over the years, and I could not recommend them enough. They are super easy to find (I purchased these at CVS), and they aren’t too dramatic nor too natural. I have to trim them down quite a bit because I have small eyelids, but they really are gorgeous lashes. I find that the wispies look amazing on all eye shapes and with pretty much any makeup look (from bare eyelids to smokey eyes).
SETTING SPRAY glamglow glowsetter
I purchased this product from Sephora back in April with a gift card that I received for my birthday. I have been using this product on a pretty regular basis since the first week of May, and I really like it. Not only is the packaging to die for (along with the amazing scent), but this product is really great for giving your skin a fresh, dewy look. I love to apply this product after applying powder. It keeps things from looking too dry or cakey. It’s also nice to spritz on throughout the day to refresh your makeup. I definitely plan on throwing this in my purse for work! As for the longevity of your makeup, I am not sure if it’s necessarily the best one on the market for that purpose. However, it’s really nice for giving your skin a fresh, youthful glow. It is on the pricier side, but you really do get a ton of product (I use this all the time and have barely made a dent).
FLAT ESPADRILLES soludos cactus espadrilles
Guys. These shoes are everything. Are these espadrille flats not the cutest thing on the entire planet??!! I had been on the hunt for some casual espadrilles for a while. I wanted something comfortable to wear on casual days. When I discovered the brand, Soludos (on Sincerely Jules’ insta), I knew it was definitely the right place for me to look. I looked through all the adorable options for days on the site, but still felt torn (bc I wanted them all). On a shopping outing with my mom, I decided to try a pair on in stores. When I saw these cactus flats in person, I was sold. As for the sizing, I definitely think they run true to size (possibly on the slightly smaller side). In my closet, I have shoes ranging from size 6 to size 7. I got these babies in a size 6.5, which is pretty true to size for me. The first time I wore them (for a 3-hour photoshoot), I did get a blister. However, like most shoes, they are more comfortable when you break them in! I really love that these shoes have the slightest little platform to them. At 5’1, I will take every inch I can get! If you are looking for a nice pair of espadrilles for summer, Soludos is definitely an amazing place to check out!
TANNING TOWELS self-tan towelette plus
I think my most frequently-asked-question this time of year is ‘what self tanner do you recommend’? When I was in Kindergarten, my mom got skin cancer. Even at a young age, it made quite an impression on me because like my mom, I have fair skin and light eyes. Though I do lay out on the rare occasion, I usually stick to spray tanning and self tanning. Taking care of your skin is SO important- not only for preventing cancer, but for preventing anti-aging as well. Self tanners can be tricky- and intimidating. Though I do use self tanner lotions, I much prefer tanning towels. They are WAY easier to use and definitely more goof-proof. These self tanning towels are the best I have tried. I have been purchasing them for the past year or two (I remember using them last summer all the time), but I have been using them weekly this past month. I typically use a tan towel once a week. After I shower and shave, I use the tan towel before going to bed (I use it on my face too- they don’t cause break outs!). In the morning, I definitely do notice a huge difference! I just ordered another pack this past week, and I would highly recommend using tan towels if you are looking for a sun-free tanning option. These are a tad on the pricy side, but they are still much cheaper than paying for a spray tan/airbrush tan. They work really, really well and are definitely easier to use than other self tan options on the market!
