Happy Friday! This past weekend, my friends and I headed up to the city to be ‘tourists’ in our own temporary home. We started our day off with a trip to the famous Ghirardelli Factory to have a totally worth-our-calories lunch. After eating a billion pounds of chocolate, we went to the Golden Gate Bridge to snap a few touristy pics and walk across the bridge. For dinner, we headed to Fisherman’s Wharf for some seafood. For our day trip adventure, I wore my new favorite ‘hands off my succulent’ teepaired with my black western booties.
I am so thankful for the friendships this summer, both new and old. [I am also thankful for friends that put up with my constant photo-taking- y’all rock!]. Tomorrow my dad is flying to SF to come visit me/help me move out. Leaving next weekend will be bittersweet. More bitter than sweet, in all honesty [which I will be diving into next week in a ‘summer summary’ post]. However, I am appreciating every single second left of this summer dream.
Hello friends & happy Monday! I hope you had an amazing weekend. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to shoot with a local photographer named Baldwin. We had such a blast shooting pictures around the city, and I wanted to share a few of my favorites! Baldwin is beyond talented & you should definitely check out his instagram @baldwinner.
Happy Wednesday! If you live in/are visiting the Bay Area on a Sunday, the Presidio Picnic is an absolute must-do in the summer time. My parents were in town this weekend, so I had to drag them to my favorite semi hidden-gem in the city, the Presidio Picnic. With tons of local food trucks, a gorgeous view of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a bustling, charming atmosphere, this outdoor picnic is the perfect way to enjoy your Sunday! My favorite food truck? Grilled Cheez Guy. If you’re a grown-adult, grilled cheese addict like me, you’ll be in heaven!
Hello, hello! It is most definitely past midnight here in California, but alas, I am awake. This weekend, my parents came to visit me in Northern California! We had a wonderful Saturday biking the Golden Gate Bridge with friends, exploring Sausalito, and enjoying sushi. All in all, it was a fantastic weekend. I am so grateful that my parents got to finally come visit me this summer, and we had such a blast in San Francisco!
Hello, hello! I hope that you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! The 4th of July is definitely one of my very favorite holidays of the year. It was so nice to spend the weekend in Laguna with my family, eating hamburgers and exploring the city! My parents are going to be in the bay area this weekend, so it will be really nice to enjoy two weekends in a row with them.
my mom hated this candid photo, but I love it so much because they look so happy.

“Beach or mountains?“, my mom asked my dad as we made the hike up the hill after watching last night’s gorgeous seaside sunset. “Beach. 100%”, my dad answered with no hesitation at all. “Same! Definitely beach”, I told them. “Nobody asked you, Mackenzie. We all already knew that one!”.
If I could live at the beach every day, salt in my hair, watching a gorgeous sunset every evening, I would be the world’s most content human-being. I am so thankful for summer nights spent with views of the ocean and great conversations with my favorite people.
Hello friends & happy Sunday (wait, is it Sunday already? Weekends fly by so quickly). This weekend, I am with my family in Laguna beach to celebrate the 4th of July! We spent our first day here catching some rays and enjoying margaritas. It’s been a month since I have seen my parents, so it’s always nice getting to spend quality time with them & catching up!
I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend! Let me know what your plans are for the holiday weekend.

*Trying not to crash the boat*
“On Saturdays, we sail”. Okay. Maybe not eveerryy Saturday (though a girl can dream), but on this particular Saturday morning, a few friends and I sailed off from Berkeley to the beautiful, dreamy island of Angel. Angel Island is a charming, seaside destination with the most breathtaking views. When I think of the perfect morning, I would definitely picture this one. Wind in my hair, bay water breezes, and good friends. I don’t think it gets better than this. Today, I realized how incredibly grateful I am. How grateful I am to have amazing friends out here in California that are so encouraging and inspiring. How grateful I am to have the opportunity to live in such a beautiful place that allows me to embrace God’s beautiful creation. Life is incredible and wonderful, and so often, we take it for granted.
“Can you believe we have about a month left here”, my bestie since 6th grade asked me today as we our sail boat pulled up to the shores of Angel Island. “I am in denial”. I am not ready to leave Northern California in August. Not even a little bit, and I tear up thinking about the fact that this perfect summer will have to come to in an end. For now though, I am taking full advantage of every day and every second. My goal this summer has been to ‘break out of my comfort zone‘. I am a creature of habit, and I love the familiar and the comfortable and the safe. It can be scary to do things that are ‘out of your comfort zone’, but those bold and daring adventures are what provide us with the fullest experiences and the most unforgettable memories.
*End emotional diary entry*. Long story short, friends, California rocks.
Hi friends & happy Monday! My sister, Allie, flew into San Fransisco on Saturday. We’ve had such a fun weekend stumbling upon a food truck festival, snapping fun pictures, and exploring the city. I wanted to share some of our photos from the weekend!
Happy Sunday! Hands down, this weekend has been one of the best weekends of my entire life. On Thursday, my Grandma, mom and I headed to Las Vegas to celebrate my 21st birthday! We arrived at the Wynn hotel, which was such a gorgeous place to spend the weekend [it’s also where we snapped these pics]. During our weekend, we enjoyed some shopping, eating, casinos, and the incredible Le Reve show. If you ever go to Vegas, you definitely have to see the Le Reve/The Dream show. It was one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen, and I was in owe of how talented all the performers were! It’s definitely a great show for all people, of all ages. On a slightly-random side note, I only got kicked out of the casino once this weekend [the security guard didn’t believe I was actually 21, but it happens, it’s fine]. Being 5’0 doesn’t really help me look my age, but it’s something I will appreciate years down the road.
Long story short, I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend with my family. I’m celebrating my birthday with my college besties this week, and I am excited to have one last celebration before exams begin! In the past, birthdays have never been a big deal to me. I’m not quite sure why, but they just never seemed too important to me.However, your 21st is definitely a special one & I decided that I wanted to go all out for once. I wanted to find a birthday outfit that screamed ‘twenty-fun‘, so my sister, Allie, helped me pick out this unique, orange floral set. I paired it with my favorite lace up sandal heels and minimal accessories. It was definitely the perfect bday outfit & I absolutely loved wearing it on my special day!
Though I am sad this perfect weekend is over and that I have to go back to the ‘real world’, I am really grateful that I got to spend some time with my family and enjoy such a fun city.
