Hello, hello & happy Monday! Can somebody please tell me how weekends fly by so quickly?! Apologies that I am just now getting this post up. I took these photos the same day that I took the pics from my Apartment Tour: Bedroom post, and I am so excited to share them with you all today! Thank you SO much for all of the love and support I received on my Bedroom Tour post; you guys have no idea how much it means to me! I have been LOVING my new apartment. I am a big believer that the space you live in can really make the world of difference. Shopping for furniture for the first time in my life was definitely no easy challenge.
For me personally, it was really important to invest in pieces that will last me years and years (aka for as long as I am living in an apartment!). I am beyond happy with the way it all turned out! I feel like my living room really represents me and my personal style. Different people can have different tastes in decor. My personal motto: “More is more“. During the shopping process, there was no limit on the textures, prints, and colors that I wanted to incorporate into this space. This living room definitely has to be my favorite spot in our entire apartment. It’s the place where I work on my blog posts, read my favorite books, have deep talks with my dad, and snuggle up to watch the bachelorette with my mom when she comes to visit. After a long day of commuting to work, it’s so nice to have a little space where I can instantly feel in my element and relax. Though I have only lived in this apartment for about two months now, it already feels like home! I know that this place won’t always be permanent, but I know a lot of these pieces around me will carry the best of memories.
Okay. *End sappy monologue*. Without further ado, my friends, welcome to my living room:
This little section of my living room was no easy makeover. We knew we wanted to cover up the random, metal pillar protruding from the wall, but we weren’t really too sure on what to put in that awkward space. We ultimately ended up deciding it needed a faux plant to fill the area. The challenge was finding a basket that wasn’t too short/tiny, nor too overwhelming. When I found this affordable one from Target, I was thrilled that it was the perfect fit for my beloved faux fig tree.
fuzzy stool (on sale!)
I looovvvee this little guy. Is he not the funnest, fluffiest stool you’ve ever seen??!! For the first few weeks, we did not have a single stool in the living room. I never originally thought we needed on. When my whole family is in town, it can get a little crowded in this room when we are all watching TV. Though I adore the beautiful, navy chairs we have, they definitely needed some kind of foot rest/stool. My parents spotted this amazing fuzzy stool at Cost World Market Plus, and it actually ties in perfectly with our living room. It fits perfectly with our chairs, and I use it all the time!
round glass table (sold out – linked similar)
I am definitely a fan of glass tables. There is something about them that looks so modern and chic. I love that this one is circular and small! It is the perfect home for my favorite succulent bowl!
wooden figurine (old- linked similar) // stacked ball lamp
This. Lamp. Is. Everything. Finding the perfect lamp for this table definitely took a bit of time. I knew that I wanted a tall one, but I wanted something a little bit different. When I stumbled upon this stack ball lamp on a routine Target run, I decided to take it home and see if it was fit with the rest of the space. And alas, it did!
This wooden giraffe has been with me for over a year now. Though I have had to re-glew his ear on numerous occasions, I can’t imagine any apartment feeling homey without him! If you are looking for cute little wooden animals, I would highly recommend Target!
This pillow makes me so happy. I never originally planned on picking these up for my living room, but every time I walked into Anthropologie, I could never peel my eyes away. An amazing employee at Anthropologie talked us into it, as she too is a “more is more” decor kind of girl. I think it surprisingly works really well with the color palette of the living room, and it ties in very nicely with the chairs.
I am such a fan of this sofa. It is SO comfortable and makes for the perfect napping spot. Though it is definitely on the pricy side, it is very high quality, and I know it is one I will be using 5+ years in the future! A nice couch was something that I felt was worth the splurge. I love the neutral, beige color and the size! It’s perfect!
Though I do tend to get most of my pillows from Anthro, this tasseled pillow from Target had my heart. It ties in so nicely with the rest of the pillows on my couch, and I love the subtle, tassel details! For under $20, it really is a steal!
anthropologie embroidered pillow
I am obsessed with these Anthro pillows. The embroidery on them is exquisite, and the colors match my ornate rug seamlessly. When going for a more-is-more type of room, I think it’s important to keep a specified color palette in mind to keep things cohesive. If you’re mixing prints and textures, keeping things in the same color family really helps tie it all together. I also own the matching blanket – and I think the pillows + blanket would also look amazing on a bed!
This lamp is such a standout piece for me! I love the mix of cream and white. My favorite part about this lamp is the height. In a living room, I think having a tall lamp next to your couch is not only practical, but visually appealing. The gold detailing adds just the right dash of glam!
When I started planning out my living room a few months ago, I made a list of must-have pieces that I knew I wanted. One of those top three picks was a gold, glass coffee table. After seeing hundreds on Pinterest, I decided I really wanted one for my future living room! There’s just something about glass + gold that’s just so chic and polished. I love that this table really displays my favorite books (I am an avid coffee table book collector if you couldn’t tell) along with a few of my other favorite little bits and bops.
gold spikey spheres (old- linked similar)
These little guys actually use to hang on my wall for years back in college. I love that they also double as unique coffee table pieces.
I have had my purple geode coaster for about a year now, and it got so much love in college (all those nights of iced caffeine drinks). When I started preparing for my adult apartment, I decided to pick up a few more. I use them all the time, and I love their earthy + glam vibe.

I get most of my succulents from Highway 92 Succulents in Northern California. They are the NICEST people, and their plant collection is out of this world! Their store makes me giddy, and I can’t resist stopping by every single time I head to Half Moon Bay!
framed succulent art (not really sure where this is from – linked similar)
If you are ever looking for books to fill a bookshelf, hit up your local thrift store! I get pretty much all of my books from the thrift store (except for the majority of my coffee table books).
We keep all of our remotes/wires/chargers in this wooden basket by the TV!
This rug was my birthday gift this past year! It’s the only thing I wanted, and it was the #1 thing on my apartment wish-list. I absolutely LOVE it. It’s definitely not subtle by any means, but I love how it completely transforms the feel of the entire living room. I can not even put into words how much I love my printed rug!
Thank you SO much for checking out my blog! I hope that you enjoyed my apartment decor series!

Mackenzie

This is my absolute favorite! Love the whole vibe. Where did you get the console table for the tv?
I absolutely love the navy chairs! They make me want to throw out the chair I have to buy one of those. Too bad it wouldn’t match my color scheme and decor right now 🙁
You need to design my living room! This is literally so cute I love it!
